Razer Phone: First Ever Gaming Smartphone

Razer Phone

Razer has officially released its first iteration to smartphones. The gaming-focused company acquired Nextbit back in January and the first device that has been produced is the first Gaming Smartphone: the Razer Phone.

With Gaming as a priority for the Razor Smartphone, it has an all Aluminum framework and sturdy build quality which features two front-facing stereo speakers on the bezels on the two sides. Razer claims that they have the loudest speakers. This smartphone also doesn’t sport a headphone jack, as it has been seen on the latest launched smartphones of 2017.

The Razer Phone ships with Nova Launcher Prime Razer Edition. You have the volume rockers on the left side and the fingerprint scanner sensor is in the power key which is on the right side. It runs Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box but an upgrade to Android Oreo 8.0 will be coming in Q1 next year.

When it comes to software, the Razer phone comes with the Snapdragon 835, 8GB of RAM, internal storage of 64GB and the dual rear camera setup with 12 MP f/1.75 shooter and a 13 MP f/2.6 2x fixed zoom lens, along with a dual-tone LED flash. On the front, you get an 8 MP f/2.0 snapper for selfies.

The smartphone has a mammoth 4,000 mAh battery. Razer claims you could view motion pictures for 12.5 hrs on its phone, pay attention to songs for 63.5 hrs, as well as play Hearthstone for 7 hrs directly. With assistance from Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0+, the battery charges from 0 to 85% in simply 1 hour.

The screen is 5.7″ QHD IGZO LCD with 120Hz refresh rate. With the use of adaptive refresh technology that syncs with the  GPU and the display, the 120Hz refresh rate can be a game-changer.

This technology is developed with the help of Qualcomm to assure that there is no lag or tearing at high frame rates. This UltraMotion technology can be compared to the Apple’s iPad Pro as currently, no other smartphones possess this technology right now.

The Razer Phone will become available on November 17 through the company’s online store for $699 unlocked. You can find the smartphone in the Microsoft stores in the US and Canada. And Pre-orders start on Friday.
